 विश्र्वं विष्णुर्वषटकारो भूतभव्यभवतप्रभु: ।  भूतकृद्‌भूतभृद्‌भावभूतात्मा भूतभावन: ।। 1 ।।

 1.   विश्वम् (viśvam) = The Universe

2.  विष्णु: (viṣnuḥ) = The brilliance permeating  everywhere

3.  वषट्कारः (vaṣatkāraḥ) = The deity contemplated in sacrifice

4.   भूतभव्यभवत्प्रभुः (bhūta-bhavya-bhavat-prabhuḥ) = The Lord of past, present and future  

5.   भूतकृत् (bhūtakṛt) = Cause of immobile and mobile existences

6.   भूतभृत् (bhūtabhṛt) = Sustainer of all beings

7.   भावः (bhāvaḥ)  = Everything that is manifest

8.   भूतात्मा (bhūtātmā) = The soul of whatever is, the manifest

28. स्थाणुः (sthāṇuḥ) = One who is immovable (stable, unwavering)

55. अग्राह्यः (agrāhyah)Not graspable (by senses)

56. शाश्वतः (śāśvatah) = The ever present, everlasting

57. कृष्ण: (krishnah) = One who is black; The ever joyful

58. लोहिताक्षः (lohitākshah) = With red-tinged eyes

59. प्रतर्दनः (pratardanah) = One who annihilates everything in the end

60. प्रभूतः (prabhūtah) = One who is distinguished for wealth and knowledge

61. त्रिककुब्धाम (trikakubdhāma) = One who is the abode (dhāma) of all the three regions (kakub) 

62. पवित्रम् (pavitraṁ) = One who purifies

104. वसु: (vasuḥ) = The indweller of all

105. वसुमनाः (vasumanāḥ) = One possessing benevolent mind

106. सत्यः (satyaḥ) = One who is the Truth

107. समात्मा (samātmā) = One with equal vision (or, who is the same Self in all)

108. असम्मितः (asammitaḥ) = One who cannot be determined

109. समः (samaḥ) = One who is uniform at all times

110. अमोघः (amoghaḥ) = Worshipping whom will never be futile

114. रुद्रः (rudraḥ) = One who is redresser of grief

115. बहुशिरा: (bahushirāḥ) = One with many heads

116. बभ्रुः (babhruḥ) = One who supports the world.

117. विश्वयोनिः (viśvayoniḥ) = One who is the womb (cause) of the universe

118. शुचिश्रवाः (śuchiśravāḥ) = One with pure fame

119. अमृत: (amritah) = The undying

120. शाश्वतस्थाणु: (śāśvatasthanuḥ) = One who is perennially stable

121. वरारोह: (varārohaḥ) = One representing the great ascent (varam ārohanam) the final abode

122. महातपाः (mahātapāḥ) = One with greatest austerity (knowledge)

 सर्वग: सर्वविद्‌भानुर्विष्वक्सेनो जनार्दन: । वेदो वेदविदव्यंगो वेदांगो वेदवित्कवि: ।। 14 ।।

123. सर्वगः (sarvagaḥ) = All-pervasive

124. सर्वविद्भानुः (sarvavidbhānuḥ) = One who knows all and illumines all

125. विष्वक्सेनः (vishvaksenaḥ) = One who has armies all around

126. जनार्दनः (janārdanaḥ) = One who tormenting the vicious. Also, one sought after by people

127. वेदः (vedaḥ) = One in the form of Knowledge

128. वेदवित् (vedavit) = The Knower of the Vedas

129. अव्यङ्गः (avyangaḥ) = One who is unmanifest (not reachable by the senses)

130. वेदाङ्गः (vedāngaḥ) = Having the vedas as his limbs

131. वेदवित् (vedavit) = Knowing the real purport of Vedas

132. कविः (kaviḥ) = One who sees beyond the apparent

133. लोकाध्यक्षः (lokādhyakshaḥ) = Lord of all the worlds

134. सुराध्यक्षः (surādhyakshaḥ) = Lord of the suras (devataas or heavenly denizens)

135. धर्माध्यक्षः (dharmādhyakshaḥ) = Lord of dharma

136. कृताकृतः (kritākritaḥ) = One who is both effect and the cause (who transcends causality)

137. चतुरात्मा (caturātmā) = One who is the essence of His four-fold manifestation (jāgrat-svapna-sushupti-tureeya)

138. चतुर्व्यूहः (caturvyūhaḥ) = One arraying wakeful, sleep, dream states as also the tureeya

139. चतुर्दंष्ट्रः (caturdamshtraḥ) = One with four protruding teeth (symbolic)

140. चतुर्भुजः (caturbhujaḥ) = One having four hands (symbolic)

 भ्राजिष्णुर्भोजनं भोक्ता सहिष्णुर्जगदादिज: । अनघो विजयो जेता विश्र्वयोनि: पुनर्वसु: ।। 16 ।।

141. भ्राजिष्णुः (bhrājishnuḥ) = One who is ever shining

142. भोजनम् (bhojanam) = One who is the food that nourishes

143. भोक्ता (bhoktā) = The partaker or consumer (enjoyer) of everything

144. सहिष्णुः (sahishnuḥ) = One who is tolerant by nature

145. जगदादिजः (jagadādijaḥ) = One who Self-manifests at the beginning of the Universe

146. अनघः (anaghaḥ) = One who is untainted by sin

147. विजयः (vijayaḥ) = One who is victory personified

148. जेता (jetā) = Ever the victor

149. विश्वयोनिः (viśvayoniḥ) = One with universe as the womb

151. उपेन्द्रः (upendraḥ) = One greater than Indra

152. वामनः (vāmanaḥ) = Wise to launch any expedient measure, like Vamana

153. प्रांशुः (pramśuḥ) = With a size adequate to measure anything any time

154. अमोघः (amoghaḥ) = One whose actions never go in vain

155. शुचिः (śuciḥ) = One who is Pure and Purifies for all  those who beseech him variously

156. ऊर्जितः (ūrjitaḥ) = One of extra-ordinary strength

219. ग्रामणीः (grāmanīḥ) = He who leads the entire pancha-bhootas

220. श्रीमान् (śrīmān) = He who shines exquisitely

221. न्यायः (nyāyaḥ) = He who represents the path of inference leading to the Supreme Reality

222. नेता (netā) = He who revolves the wheel of worldliness

223. समीरणः (samīranaḥ) = He who activates all beings through the breathing process

247. असंख्येयः (asankhyeyaḥ) = He who is beyond counting

248. अप्रमेयात्मा (aprameyātmā) = He who is beyond knowledge

249. विशिष्टः (viśishtaḥ) = He who is the greatest

250. शिष्टकृत् (śishtakrit) = He who commands or protects the virtuous

251. शुचिः (śuciḥ) = He who is having no impurity

252. सिद्धार्थः (siddhārthaḥ) = He in whom all objects are fulfilled

253. सिद्धसंकल्पः (siddhasankalpaḥ) = He who is able to achieve all he resolves upon

254. सिद्धिदः (siddhidaḥ) = He who is bestowing appropriate fruition and fulfilment

255. सिद्धिसाधनः (siddhisādhanaḥ) = He who showers achievement to the seekers

वृषाही वृषभो विष्णुर्वृषपर्वा वृषोदर: । वर्धनो वर्धमानश्च विविक्त: श्रुतिसागर: ।। 28 ।।

256. वृषाही (vrishāhī) = He who reveals righteousness like daylight

257. वृषभः (vrishabhaḥ) = He who is showering the desired objects

258. विष्णुः (vishnuḥ) = He who pervades as brilliance everywhere

259. वृषपर्वा (vrishaparvā) = He who provides various steps of dharma

260. वृषोदरः (vrishodaraḥ) = He whose stomach showers offsprings

261. वर्धन: (vardhanaḥ) = Given to ceaseless augmentation

262. वर्धमानः (vardhamānah) = Who multiplies in the form of the universe

263. विविक्तः (viviktaḥ) = Who remains distinct, unaffected

264. श्रुतिसागरः (shrutisāgara) = The ocean into which all scriptures flow

सुभुजो दुर्धरो वाग्मी महेंद्रो वसुदो वसु: । नैकरूपो बृहद्रुप: शिपिविष्ट: प्रकाशन: ।। 29 ।।

265. सुभुजः (subhujaḥ) = With powerful arms to protect the world

266. दुर्धरः (durdhara) = Who cannot be held or borne by any other

267. वाग्मी (vāgmī) = From whom emerges the Scriptural articulation

268. महेन्द्रः (mahendraḥ) = Supreme being, Lord of Gods

269. वसुदः (vasudaḥ) = Bestower of wealth and affluence

270. वसुः (vasuḥ) = Wealth, treasure

271. नैकरूपः (naikarūpaḥ) = Bereft of any specific form

272. बृहद्रूपः (brihadrūpaḥ) = Having magnificently huge forms

273. शिपिविष्टः (śipivishtaḥ) = Residing in cow as sacrifice

274. प्रकाशनः (prakāśanaḥ)  = Who illumines everything

अोजस्तेजोद्युतिधर: प्रकाशात्मा प्रतापन: । ऋद्ध: स्पष्टाक्षरो मंत्रश्चन्द्रांशुर्भास्करद्युति: ।। 30 ।।

275. ओजस्तेजोद्युतिधरः (ojastejodyutidharaḥ) = Having inherent strength, radiance and valour

276. प्रकाशात्मा (prakāśātmā) = Splendorous soul

277. प्रतापनः (pratāpanaḥ) = Who energizes the world with sun and other sources

278. ऋद्धः (riddaḥ) = With abundant excellences of dharma, jnaana, vairagya, etc.

279. स्पष्टाक्षरः (spashtāksharaḥ) = Issuing forth sound and syllable in all clarity and audibility

280. मन्त्रः (mantraḥ) = Manifesting as spiritual and religious formulae

281. चन्द्रांशुः (chandrāmśuḥ) = He who is comforting moon to the mind scorched by worldliness

282. भास्करद्युतिः (bhāskaradyutiḥ) = He who is resembling the solar brilliance

अमृतांशूद्भवो भानु: शशबिंदु: सुरेश्वर: । अाैषधं जगत: सेतु: सत्यधर्मपराक्रम: ।। 31 ।।

283.  अमृतांशूद्भवः (amritāmśūdbhavaḥ) = He who is source of the nectarine lunar radiance

284.  भानुः (bhānuḥ) = He who is ever shining

285.  शशबिन्दुः (śaśabinduḥ) = He who is having imprint of the hare (moon)

286.  सुरेश्वरः (sureśvaraḥ)  = He who is the lord of heavenly denizens

287.  औषधम् (aushadham) = He who is medicinal cure of all worldliness

288.  जगतःसेतुः (jagatahsetuḥ) = He who is the causeway to go across the world ocean

289.  सत्यधर्मपराक्रमः (satyadharmaparākramaḥ) = He who is valorous excellence born of truth and dharma

भूतभव्यभवन्नाथ: पवन: पावनोऽनल:  । कामहा कामकृत्कान्त: काम: कामप्रद: प्रभु: ।। 32 ।।

290. भूतभव्यभवन्नाथः (bhūtabhavyabhavannāthaḥ) = He who is the lord of the past, present and future

291. पवनः (pavanaḥ) = He who is purifying wind

292. पावनः (pāvanaḥ) = He who is the power of motion in the wind

293. अनलः (analaḥ) = He who is smell-free, end-free, functioning as praana

294. कामहा (kāmahā) = He who exterminates desires

295. कामकृत् (kāmakrit) = He who is fulfiller of desires

296. कान्तः (kāntaḥ) = He who is exquisitely beautiful

297. कामः (kāmaḥ) = He who is desired by all seeking the object of human life

298. कामप्रदः (kāmapradaḥ) = He who is liberally granting wishes of devotees

299. प्रभुः (prabhuḥ) = he who is the lord of all, surpassing one and all

युगादिकृद्‌युगावर्तो नैकमायो महाशन:  । अदृश्यो व्यक्तरूपश्च सहस्रजिदनन्तजित्‌ ।। 33 ।।

300. युगादिकृत् (yugādikrit) = he who is the source, originator of yugas

301. युगावर्तः (yugāvartaḥ) = he who is the institutor of the four-yuga-cycle

302. नैकमायः (naikamāyaḥ) = he who is unleashing multiple (not one) illusions

303. महाशनः (mahāśanaḥ) = he who is consuming the whole creational display

304. अदृश्यः (adriśya) = he who is not graspable by the senses or intelligence

305. व्यक्तरूपः (vyaktarūpa) = he who is having perceptible form

306. सहस्रजित् (sahasrajit) = he who is the victor over thousands of enemies

307. अनन्तजित् (anantajit) = he who is endlessly victorious

इष्टोऽविशिष्ट: शिष्टेष्ट: शिखंडी नहुषो वृष:  । क्रोधहा क्रोधकृत्‌कर्ता विश्वबाहुर्महीधर: ।। 34 ।।

308. इष्टः (ishtaḥ) = he who is dear to one and all

309. अविशिष्टः (aviśishtaḥ) = he who is the indweller in all as the inmost presence

310. शिष्टेष्टः (śishteshtaḥ) = he who is dear to the noble and enlightened

311. शिखण्डी (śikhandī) = he who is wearing peacock feather on the crown

312. नहुषः (nahushaḥ) = he who is binding people with illusory power

313. वृषः (vrishaḥ) = he who rains the objects of desire

314. क्रोधहा (krodhahā) = he who is eradicating anger

315. क्रोधकृत्-कर्ता (krodhakrit-kartā) = he who is the destroyer of hatred-mongers

316. विश्वबाहुः (viśvabāhuḥ) = he who has arms extending to the whole universe

317. महीधरः (mahīdharaḥ) = he who supports the earth

अच्युत: प्रथित: प्राण: प्राणदो वासवानुज:  । अपां निधिरनिष्ठानमप्रमत्त: प्रतिष्ठित: ।। 35 ।।

318. अच्युतः (achyutaḥ) = he who is undeclining

319. प्रथितः (prathitaḥ) = he who is famous for his creative potential

320. प्राणः (prāna) = he who is the one that animates and activates everything and all in creation

321. प्राणदः (prānadaḥ) = he who is the life-giver

322. वासवानुजः (vāsavānujaḥ) = he who is the younger brother of Indra

323. अपां निधिः (apām nidhiḥ) = he who is the treasurehouse of water, namely the ocean

324. अधिष्ठानम् (adhishthānam) = he who is the substratum for everything

325. अप्रमत्तः (apramattaḥ) = he who is watchful to give fruits of activity to all

326. प्रतिष्ठितः (pratishthitaḥ) = he who is stable with His own greatness

स्कंद: स्कंदधरो धुर्यो वरदो वायुवाहन:  । वासुदेवो बृहदभानुरादिदेव: पुरंदर: ।। 36 ।।

327. प्स्कन्दः (skandaḥ) = he who is the ever-flowing nectar

328. स्कन्दधरः (skandadharaḥ) = he who is sustaining the righteous path

329. धुर्यः (dhuryaḥ) = he who is the ultimate forbearer of the world and its beings

330. वरदः (varada) = he who is the giver of boons

331. वायुवाहनः (vāyuvāhanaḥ) = he who is activating the wind in all its aspects

332. वासुदेवः (vāsudevaḥ) = he who is indwelling as well as encompassing all

333. बृहद्भानुः (brihadbhānuḥ) = he who is stupendously brilliant

334. आदिदेवः (ādideva) = he who is the primordial deity

335. पुरन्दरः (purandaraḥ) = he who is the destroyer of the cities of Asuras

अशोकस्तारणस्तार: शूर: शाैरिर्जनेश्वर:  । अनुकूल: शतावर्त: पद्मी पद्मनिभेक्षण:  ।। 37 ।।

336. अशोकः (aśokaḥ) = he who is never tormented

337. तारणः (tāranaḥ) = he who takes others across the sea of life

338. तारः (tāraḥ) = he who is imbuing strength to overcome all fears of life

339. शूरः (śūraḥ) = he who is the valorous

340. शौरिः (śouriḥ) = he who is the son of Shūra (Vāsudeva)

341. जनेश्वरः (janeśvara) = he who is the Lord of all beings

342. अनुकूलः (anukūla) = he who is favourable to all, being the resident in them all

343. शतावर्तः (śatāvartaḥ) = he who is born several times (to protect dharma)

344. पद्मी (padmī) = he who is holding lotus in His hand

345. पद्मनिभेक्षणः (padmanibhekshana) = he who has lotus-like eyes

पद्मनाभोऽरविंदाक्ष: पद्मगर्भ: शरीरभृत्‌  । महर्द्धिर्ऋद्धो वृद्धात्मा महाक्षो गरुडध्वज:  ।। 38 ।।

346. पद्मनाभः (padmanābhaḥ) = he who is abiding in the heart-lotus

347. अरविन्दाक्षः (aravindākshah) = he who has lotus-like eyes

348. पद्मगर्भः (padmagarbhaḥ) = he who is to be worshipped in the lotus of one’s heart

349. शरीरभृत् (śarīrabhrit) = he who is the nourisher of all bodies with food and nutrients

350. महर्द्धिः (maharddhiḥ) = he who is having abundant prosperity

351. ऋद्धः (riddhah) = he who is always growing and expanding as the universe

352. वृद्धात्मा (vriddhātmā) = he who is the ancient Self

353. महाक्षः (mahākshaḥ) = he who is having huge eyes (all seeing power)

354. गरुडध्वजः (garudadhvajaḥ) = he who is having Garuda (eagle) on his flag

अतुल: शरभो भीम: समयज्ञो हविर्हरि:  । सर्वलक्षणलक्षण्यो लक्ष्मीवान समितिंजय:  ।। 39 ।।

355. अतुलः (atulaḥ) = he who has no equal

356. शरभः (śarabhaḥ) = he who is shining as the inner brilliance in all bodies

357. भीमः (bhīmaḥ) = he who is frightening, unleashing awe

358. समयज्ञः (samayajñaḥ) = he who is knower of time, hence of creation, preservation and dissolution

359. हविर्हरिः (havirhariḥ) = he who is partaking a share of yajnas and yagas

360. सर्वलक्षणलक्षण्यः (sarvalakshanalakshanyaḥ) = he who is indicated by all the characteristics

361. लक्ष्मीवान् (lakshmīvān) = he who is coupled with the Goddess of prosperity

362. समितिञ्जयः (samitiñjayaḥ) = he who is victor of battles

विक्षरो रोहितो मार्गो हेतुर्दामोदर: सह:  । महीधरो महाभागो वेगवानमिताशन:  ।। 40 ।।

363. विक्षरः (viksharaḥ) = he who has no equal

364. रोहितः (rohitaḥ) = he who assumed embodiment of Matsya

365. मार्गः (mārgaḥ) = he who is the way sought by seekers of Truth

366. हेतुः (hetuḥ) = he who is the material and efficient cause of creation

367. दामोदरः (dāmodaraḥ) = he who is with a mind enriched by self-restraint

368. सहः (sahaḥ) = he who forbears and subdues everything

369. महीधरः (mahīdharaḥ) = he who is bearing the earth

370. महाभागः (mahābhāgaḥ) = he who is enjoying supreme felicity through various embodiments

371. वेगवान्  (vegavān) = he who is given to stunning speed

372. अमिताशनः (amitāśanaḥ) = he who is devouring  the whole creation

उद्भव: क्षोभणो देव: श्रीगर्भ: परमेश्र्वर: । करणं कारणं कर्ता विकर्ता गहनो गुह: ।। 41 ।।

373. उद्भवः (udbhavaḥ) = He who is the source of the entire creation

374. क्षोभणः (kshobhanaḥ) = He who is causing agitation by stirring prakriti

375. देवः (devaḥ) = He who is spiritually effulgent

376. श्रीगर्भः (śrīgarbhaḥ) = He who is who hosts Sri in His womb

377. परमेश्वरः (parameśvaraḥ) = He who is the Supreme Controller

378. करणम् (karanam) = He who is the very instrument of entire creation

379. कारणम् (kāranam) = he who is the material as well as efficient cause

380. कर्ता (kartā) = He who is the singular performer

381. विकर्ता (vikartā) = He who is the multi-pronged performer

382. गहनः (gahanaḥ) = He who is with inconceivable potential

383. गुहः (guhaḥ) = He who is concealing own nature by illusory power

व्यवसायो व्यवस्थान: संस्थान: स्थानदो ध्रुव:  । परर्ध्दि: परमस्पष्ट: तुष्ट: पुष्ट: शुभेक्षण:  ।। 42 ।।

384. व्यवसायः (vyavasāyaḥ) = He who is having resoluteness in everything

385. यवस्थानः (vyavasthānaḥ) = He who is the source of all order, system and sequence

386. संस्थानः (samsthānaḥ) = He in whom inhere existence and dissolution alike

387. स्थानदः (sthānadaḥ) = He who is bestower of the right place to one and all

388. ध्रुवः (dhruvaḥ) = He who is unassailable in every way

389. परर्द्धिः (pararddhiḥ) = He who is the ultimate prosperity

390. परमस्पष्टः (paramaspashtaḥ) = He who is supremely self-effulgent

391. तुष्टः (tushtaḥ) = He who is contented in every way

392. पुष्टः (pushtaḥ) = He who is fulfillingly abundant

393. शुभेक्षणः (śubhekshanaḥ) = He who is with a glance bestowing all-fold welfare

रामो विरामो विरजो मार्गो नेयो नयोऽनय:  । वीर: शक्त्तिमतां श्रेष्ठो धर्मो धर्मविदुत्तम:  ।। 43 ।।

394. रामः (rāmaḥ) = He who is rejoicing and delighting alike

395. विरामः (virāmaḥ) = He who is the final recession and refuge for all

396. विरज: (virajaḥ) = He who is devoid of all sensory interests

397. मार्गः (mārgaḥ) = He who is the path for liberation, sought by seekers

398. नेयः (neyaḥ) = He who is efficiently leading one to supreme freedom

399. नयः (nayaḥ) = he who is leader for spiritual enlightenment

400. अनयः (anayaḥ) = He who is having none to lead himself

401. वीरः (vīra) = He who is valour personified

402. शक्तिमतां श्रेष्ठः (śaktimatām śreshtha) = He who is the best among the strong

403. धर्मः (dharmaḥ) = He who is the power that sustains all

404. धर्मविदुत्तमः (dharmaviduttama) = He who is the best of those who know dharma

वैकुण्ठ: पुरुष: प्राण: प्राणद: प्रणव: पृथु:  । हिरण्यगर्भ: शत्रुघ्नो व्याप्तो वायुरधोक्षज:  ।। 44 ।।

405. वैकुण्ठः (vaikuntha) = He who is subtle enough to overwhelm the panchabhootas

406. पुरुषः (purusha) = He who is indweller in all bodies

407. राणः (prāna) = He who is cosmic energy or life force

408. प्राणदः (prānadaḥ) = He who is instiller of cosmic power

409. प्रणवः (pranavaḥ) = He who is the extolled and the supplicated

410. पृथुः (prithuḥ) = He who is extensive enough to permeate the entire universe

411. हिरण्यगर्भः (hiranyagarbhaḥ) = He who is the progenitor of the primordial womb

412. शत्रुघ्नः (śatrughnaḥ) = He who is exterminator of enemies

413. व्याप्तः (vyāptaḥ) = He who is pervading all beings and effects

414. वायुः (vāyuḥ) = He who is progenitor of smell

415. अधोक्षजः (adhokshajaḥ) = He who is knowledge gained when senses recoil

ऋतु: सुदर्शन: काल: परमेष्ठी परिग्रह: । उग्र संवत्सरो दक्षो विश्रामो विश्र्वदक्षिण:  ।। 45 ।।

416. ऋतुः (rituḥ) = He who is manifesting as time that causes seasons

417. सुदर्शनः (sudarśanaḥ) = He who is of benedictory vision

418. कालः (kāla) = The means of reckoning transitions

419. परमेष्ठी (parameshthī) = He who is inhering in His own unsurpassable glory

420. परिग्रहः (parigraha) = He who is present everywhere and receiving

421. उग्रः (ugra) = He who is fierce and formidable

422. संवत्सरः (samvatsara) = Wherein habitate all beings

423. दक्षः (dakshaḥ) = Dexterous in giving rise to expansion and causing expeditious performance

424. विश्रामः (viśrāma) = He who is the refuge and asylum for the forlorn and distressed

425. विश्वदक्षिणः (viśvadakshina) = He who is the refuge and asylum for the forlorn and distressed

विस्तार: स्थावरस्थाणु: प्रमाणं बीजमव्ययं । अर्थोऽनर्थो महाकोशो महाभोगो महाधन:  ।। 46 ।।

426. विस्तारः (vistāra) = He who is extending to the entirety of universe

427. स्थावरस्थाणुः (sthāvarasthānuḥ) = He who is immovable and firm

428. प्रमाणम् (pramāṇam) = He who is the supreme proof by self-revelation

429. बीजमव्ययम् (bījamavyayam) = He who is the inexhaustible causal seed

430. अर्थः (arthaḥ) = Joyfulness all seek alike

431. अनर्थः (anartha) = He who is free from need due to self-fulfilment

432. महाकोशः (mahākośaḥ) = He who is shrouded by great sheaths

433. महाभोगः (mahābhogaḥ) = He who is the enjoyer of exceeding bliss

434. महाधनः (mahādhanaḥ) = He who is possessing supreme wealth

 

अनिर्विण्ण: स्थविष्ठोऽभूर्धर्मयूपो महामख: । नक्षत्रनेमिर्नक्षत्री क्षम: क्षाम: समीहन:  ।। 47 ।।

435. अनिर्विण्णः (anirvinnaḥ) = He who is un-depressed due to overwhelming fullness

436. स्थविष्ठः (sthavishthaḥ) = He who is unmovingly seated bearing the visible creation

437. अभूः (abhūḥ) = He who is uncaused and unborn

438. धर्मयूपः (dharmayūpaḥ) = He who is the spiritual staff binding all ethics and laws

439. महामखः (mahāmakhaḥ) = He who is reigning as the wish-yielder of all sacrifices

440. नक्षत्रनेमिः (nakshatranemiḥ) = He who is the rim of the wheel holding all celestial bodies

441. नक्षत्री (nakshatrī) = He who is the lunar brilliance outshining all stars

442. क्षमः (kshamaḥ) = He who is incessantly dexterous, tolerant

443. क्षामः (kshāmaḥ) = He who is resting in the remainder, at the end of all transformations

444. समीहनः (samīhanaḥ) = He who is wishing welfare for everything and all

यज्ञ इज्यो महेज्यश्च क्रतु: सत्रं सतां गति: । सर्वदर्शी विमुक्तात्मा सर्वज्ञो ज्ञानमुत्तमम्‌  ।। 48 ।।

445. यज्ञः (yajňaḥ) = He who is of the nature of sacrifice, the source of existence and expression

446. इज्यः (ijyaḥ) = Worshippable by yagas

447. महेज्यः (mahejyaḥ) = He who is the loftiest of those to be worshipped by yagas

448. क्रतुः (kratuḥ) = He who is Kratu (a kind of sacrifice) personified

449. सत्रम् (satram) = Spiritual performance to benefit the good and deter the bad

450. सतां गतिः (satām gatiḥ) = He who is the refuge for the good and noble

451. सर्वदर्शी: (sarvadarśīḥ) = He who knows everything and all, in general and particular

452. विमुक्तात्मा: (vimuktātmāḥ) = He who is freed of all bondages

453. सर्वज्ञ: (sarvajñaḥ) = He who is all knowing

454. ञानमुत्तमम् (jñānamuttamam) = Supremely fulfilling knowledge

सुव्रत: सुमुख: सूक्ष्म: सुघोष: सुखद: सुहृत्‌ । मनोहरो जितक्रोधो वीरबाहुर्विदारण: ।। 49 ।।

455. सुव्रत: (suvrataḥ) = He who is with benign and benevolent vow

456. सुमुख: (sumukhaḥ) = Having exquisitely beautiful face

457. सूक्ष्म: (sukṣmaḥ) = He who is the subtle source of all gross and perceptible phenomena

458.  सुघोष: (sughoṣaḥ) = With astounding Vedic utterance

459. सुखद: (sukhadaḥ) = Bestower of delight to the good and noble

460. सुहृत्: (suhṛtaḥ) = Benefactor, without reciprocal expectation

461. मनोहर: (manoharaḥ) = He who is with blissfulness that captivates the mind

462. जितक्रोध: (jitakrodhaḥ) = He who has mastery over anger

463. वीरबाहु: (vīrabāhuḥ) = He who is having valorous hands

464. विदारण: (vidaraṇaḥ) = He who is the render of the wicked and vicious

स्वापन: स्ववशो व्यापी नैकात्मा नैककर्मकृत्‌ । वत्सरो वत्सलो वत्सी रत्नगर्भो धनेश्वर: ।। 50 ।।

465. स्वापन: (swāpanaḥ) = He who is the Mystifier

466. स्ववश: (svavaśaḥ) = One with full sovereignty

467. व्यापी (vyāpi) = He who is permeating everywhere, everything

468.  नैकात्मा (naikātmā) = He who is multi-souled, manifesting manifold entities

469. नैककर्मकृत् (naikakarmakṛt ) = Doing simultaneously multiple activities, like creation,
preservation and dissolution, in general and in particular

470. वत्सर: (vatsaraḥ) = He who is hosting everything and all

471. वत्सल: (vatsalaḥ) = He who loves one and all alike

472. वत्सी (vatsī) = He who protects one and all, (like cow does her calves)

473. रत्नगर्भ: (ratnagarbhaḥ) = Womb of all riches, like the ocean - the womb of all jewels

474. धनेश्र्वर: (dhaneshwaraḥ) = God of wealth

धर्मगुब्धर्मकृध्दर्मी सदसत्क्षरमक्षरम्‌ । अविज्ञाता सहस्रांशुरविधाता कृतलक्षण: ।। 51 ।।

475. धर्मगुप्‌ (dharmgup) = Protector of dharma

476. धर्मकृत्‌ (dharmkṛt) = Instituting and practising dharma (despite being above its orbit)

477. धर्मी (dharmī) = Source and sustenance of dharma 

478.   सत्‌ (sat) = That which shines as the ultimate truth, substratum, in everything

479. असत्‌ (asat) = The ultimate truth displaying the perishables

480. क्षरम् (Kṣaraṁ) = The perishable, meaning all the existing phenomena

481. अक्षरम् (Akṣaram) = The imperishable base of all the perishables

482. अविज्ञाता: (Avijñātaḥ) = Not conscious of any doership

483. सहस्रांशु:(sahasrāṁśuḥ) = Having thousands of rays

484. विधाता: (vidhātaḥ) = The actual carrier of everything in creation

485. कृतलक्षण:(kṛtalakṣaṇaḥ) = He who generates ample characteristics to reveal His presence

487. सत्चस्थ: (satvasthaḥ) = Abiding in sattva guna

488.  सिंह: (simhaḥ) = Valorous like a lion

489. भूतमहेश्र्वर: (bhūtamaheshwaraḥ) = The first and ultimate Lord of all beings

490. क्आदिदेव: (Ādidevaḥ) = The first of Gods

491. महादेव: (mahādevaḥ) = The Greatest of Gods

492. देवेश (deveśaḥ) = Lord of Devas

493. देवभृद्गुरु: (devabhṛudguruḥ) = Teacher (guru) for Indra, the chief of devas

उत्तरो गोपतिर्गोप्ता ज्ञानगम्य: पुरातन: । शरीरभूतभृद्‌भोक्ता कपीन्द्रो भूरिदक्षिण: ।। 53 ।।

494. उत्तर: (uttaraḥ) = Deliverer from repeated births and deaths.

495. गोपति: (gopatiḥ) = Rearer of cattle.

496. गोप्ता  (goptā) = Protector of cows

497.   ज्ञानगम्य: (jñānagamyaḥ) = Attainable by right knowledge (jñāna)

498.पुरातन: (purātanaḥ) = Exceedingly ancient

499. शरीरभूतभृत्‌ (śarīrbhūtbhṛt) = The soul of pañcha bhūtas, the base of all existence, creation

500. भोक्ता (bhoktāḥ) = Enjoyer in one and all 

501. कपीन्द्र (kapīndra) = Lord of kapeess (monkeys); One born as varaaha (boar)

502. भूरिदक्षिण: (bhuridakṣiṇaḥ) = Receiver of numerous dakṣinās during yajñā's and performances.

सोमपोऽमृतप: सोम: पुरुजित्पुसत्तम: । विनयो जय: सत्यसन्धो दाशार्ह: सात्त्वतां पति: ।। 54 ।।

503. सोमप: (somapaḥ) = Invigorator of all plant life

 504. अमृतप: (amṛtapaḥ) = One who drinks the ecstasy of the Self lavishly.

505. सोम: (somaḥ) = Invigorator of all plant life 

506.पुरुजित (purujit) = Gainer of victory over foes 

507. पुरुसत्तम: (purusattamaḥ) = Of Universal form, with Supreme Excellence 

508. विनय: (vinayaḥ) = humility embodied, even while punishing the wicked.

509. जय: (jayaḥ) = knowing only to win and succeed

 510. सत्यसंध (satyasaṁdhaḥ) = always given to truthful thoughts and imaginations.

511. दाशार्ह: (dāśārhaḥ) = Always deserving to be treated with offerings (daśa).

512. सात्त्वतां पति: (satvatāṁ patiḥ) = So the one who gave out or commented upon the 'Satvatam' tantra.

जीवो विनयितासाक्षी मुकुन्दोऽमितविक्रम: । अम्भोनिधिरनन्तात्मा महोदधिशयोऽन्तक: ।। 55 ।।

513. जीव: (jīvaḥ) = Deliverer from repeated births and deaths.

514.विनयितासाक्षी (vinayitāsākṣīḥ) = Rearer of cattle.

515. मुकुन्द: (mukundaḥ) = Protector of cows.

516.   अमितविक्रम: (amitvikramaḥ) = Attainable by right knowledge (jñāna).

517. अम्भोनिधि: (ambhonidhiḥ) = Exceedingly ancient.

518. अनन्तात्मा (anantātmā) = The soul of pañcha bhūtas, the base of all existence, creation.

519. महोदधिशय: (mahodadhiśayaḥ) = Enjoyer in one and all.

520. अन्तक: (antakaḥ) = Lord of kapeess (monkeys); One born as varaaha (boar).

अजो महार्ह: स्वाभाव्यो जितामित्र: प्रमोदन: । आनन्दो नन्दनो नन्द: सत्यधर्मा त्रिविक्रम: ।। 56 ।।

521. अजो (ajo) = Deliverer from repeated births and deaths.

522. महार्ह: (mahārhaḥ) = Rearer of cattle.

523. स्वाभाव्यो (svābhāyoh) = Protector of cows.

524. जितामित्र: (jitāmitraḥ) = Attainable by right knowledge (jñāna).

525. प्रमोदन: (pramodanaḥ) = Exceedingly ancient.

526. आनन्दो (ānando) = The soul of pañcha bhūtas, the base of all existence, creation.

527. नन्दनो (nandano) = Enjoyer in one and all

528. नन्द: (nandaḥ) = Lord of kapeess (monkeys); One born as varaaha (boar).

529. सत्यधर्मा (satyadharmā) = Having truthfulness as his attribute.

530. त्रिविक्रम: (trivikrama) = Who transcends the three worlds.

महर्षि: कपिलाचार्य: कृतज्ञो मेदिनीपति: । त्रिपदस्त्रिदशाध्यक्षो महाशृंग: कृतान्तकृत्‌ ।। 57 ।।

531. महर्षि: कपिलाचार्य: (maharṣiḥ Kapilāchāryaḥ) = Who was the teacher Kapila Maharshi.

532.  कृतज्ञ: (kṛtajñaḥ) = Who is the world as well as its knower.

533. मेदिनीपति: (medinīpatiḥ) = The Lord of the Earth.

534. त्रिपद: (tripadaḥ) = Having three strides.

535. त्रिदशाध्यक्ष: (tridaśādhyakṣaḥ) = Who presides over waking, dream and sleep states.

536. महाशृंग: (mahāśṛngaḥ) = Having great antennas, to carry Vedas.

537. कृतान्तकृत्‌ (kṛtāntakṛt) = Who instruments the extinction of whatever is born.

महावराहो गोविन्द: सुषेण: कनकांगदी । गुह्यो गभीरो गहनो गुप्तश्चक्रगदाधर: ।। 58 ।।

538. महावराह: (mahāvarāhaḥ) = The great Cosmic Boar.

539. गोविन्द: (mahārhaḥ) = Who is attainable by Vedic pronouncements.

540. सुषेण: (suṣeṇaḥ) = Having esteemed army.

541. कनकांगदी (kanakāṁgadī) = Having golden armlets.

542. गुह्य: (guhyaḥ) = Having to be known by esoteric knowledge of the Upanishads.
Residing in the cavity of heart.

543. गभीर: (gabhīraḥ) = One blissful.

544. गहन: (gahanaḥ) = Hard to enter. Witness of wakeful, dream and sleep states.

545. गुप्त: (guptaḥ) = Well hidden, one who is not an object of words, thoughts etc.

546. चक्रगदाधर: (cakragadhādharaḥ) = One who wields discuss and mace.

वेधा स्वांगोऽजित: कृष्णो दृढ: संकर्षणोऽच्युत: । वरुणो वारुणो वृक्ष: पुष्कराक्षो महामना: ।। 59 ।।

547. वेधा: (vedhāḥ) = One who bestows regulation (vidhāna).

548. स्वांग: (svāngaḥ) = One who makes himself participate in accomplishing tasks.

549. अजित: (ajitaḥ) = One who is ever invincible.

550. कृष्ण: (kṛṣṇaḥ) = One who is known as Krishna-dvaipāyana.

551. दृढ: (dṛdhaḥ) = One whose nature and ability are unshakeable.

552. संकर्षणोऽच्युत: (saṅkarṣaṇo'cyutaḥ) = One attracting all beings and having no fall.

553. वरुण: (varuṇaḥ) = The setting Sun who withdraws his rays.

554. वारूण: (vāruṇaḥ) = Varuna's son Vasiṣṭha or Agastya.

555. वृक्ष: (vṛkṣaḥ) = One unshakeable like the tree.

556. पुष्कराक्ष: (puṣkarākṣaḥ) = One sparkling like Consciousness or whose eyes shine like the Lotus.

557. महामना: (mahāmanāḥ) = One whose mind does the triple function of creation,
preservation and dissolution of the universe.

भगवान्‌ भगहानन्दी वनमाली हलायुध: । आदित्यो ज्योतिरादित्य: सहिष्णुर्गतिसत्तम: ।। 60 ।।

558. भगवान्‌ (bhagavān) = One with all the six excellences,
namely wealth, dharma, fame, prosperity, spiritual wisdom and dispassion.

559. भगहा (bhagahā) = One who retracts the above excellences in the wake of dissolution.

560. आनन्दी (ānandī) = One blissful in nature.

561. वनमाली (vanamālī) = One wearing the garland, called Vaijayanti, made of wild flowers.

562. हलायुध: (halāyudhaḥ) = One wielding the plough as weapon, as depicted by Balarāma.

563. आदित्य: (ādityaḥ) = One born of Āditi as Vāmana.

564. ज्योतिरादित्य: (jyotirādityaḥ) = One dwelling in the orb of sun.

565. सहिष्णु: (sahiṣṇuḥ) = One forbearing pairs of opposites like heat and cold.

566. गतिसत्तम: (gatisattamaḥ) = The final support of all, and the greatest of all beings.

सुधन्वा खण्डपरशुर्दारुणो द्रविणप्रद: । दिविस्पृक्‌ सर्वदृग्‌व्यासो वाचस्पतिरयोनिज: ।। 61 ।।

567. सुधन्वा (sudhanvā) = One with Sharnga, the weapon of rare excellence.

568. खण्डपरशु: (khaṇḍaparaśuḥ)One with the war axe to destroy enemies.

569. दारुण: (dāruṇaḥ) = One unrelenting and merciless to the evil-mongers.

570. द्रविणप्रद: (draviṇapradaḥ) = One bestowing wealth on devotees.

571. दिव:स्पृक्‌ (divaḥspṛk) = One touching the heavens by his gait.

572. सर्वदृग्व्यास: (sarvadṛgvyāsaḥ) = One who comprehends everything and all.

573. वाचस्पतिरयोनिज: (vācaspatiryonijaḥ) = One who has mastered all learning, also not born of a mother.

त्रिसामा सामग: साम निर्वाणं भेषजं भिषक्‌ । संन्यासकृच्छम: शान्तो निष्ठा शान्ति परायणम्‌ ।। 62 ।।

574. त्रिसामा (trisāmā) = One adored by Sāma-veda reciters through Devavratam, the triple sāmas.

575. सामग: (sāmagaḥ) = One who recites the Sāma-gāna.

576. साम (sāma) = He who is Sāma among Vedas.

577. निर्वाणम्‌ (nivāṇam) = That wherein all torments cease, which is characterized by the ultimate bliss.

578. भेषजम्‌ (bheṣajam) = Medicine to relive malady of worldliness.

579. भृषक्‌ (bhṛṣak) = The physician who relieves the disease of worldliness,
as Krishna does through the Bhagavad Gita

580. संन्यासकृत्‌ (saṅyāskṛt) = The author of Sannyasa for the attainment of liberation.

581. सम: (samaḥ) = The ordainer of placidity as the paramount discipline for Sannyasins (ascetics).

582. शान्त: (śantaḥ) = Quiescent, devoid of fondness in worldly pleasures.

583. निष्ठा (niṣṭhā) = One in whom rest all beings during cosmic dissolution.

584. शान्ति: (śantiḥ) = One in whom there is full recession of ignorance, avidya; namely Brahman.

576. परायणम्‌ (parāyaṇam) = The highest refuge, whence none returns to lower planes.

शुभांग: शान्तिद: स्रष्टा कुमुद: कुवलेशय: । गोहितो गोपतिर्गोप्ता वृषभाक्षो वृषप्रिय: ।। 63 ।।

577. शुभांग: (śubhāṅgaḥ) = One with exquisitely comely body.

578. शान्तिद: (śāntidaḥ) = One showering redemption from delusional clinging, hostility, etc.

579. स्रष्टा (srṣṭā) = One instituting everything at the start of creation.

580. कुमुद: (kumudaḥ) = One rejoicing in the earth.

581. कुवलेशय: (kuvaleśayaḥ) = One lying on water that surrounds earth.
Also one who is lying on the serpent Adisesha.

582. गोहित: (gohitaḥ) = He who befriended the cows by protecting them
from rains, holding up the Govardhana mountain.

583. गोपति: (gopatiḥ) = Vishnu, the the Lord of earth.

584. गोप्त: (goptāḥ) = One protecting the entire earth.

585. वृषभाक्ष: (vṛṣabhākṣaḥ) = One who by his glance showers all desirable objects.
Vrushabha means Dharma, and so one whose look infuses dharma.

586. वृषप्रिय: (vṛṣapriyaḥ) = One who cherishes dharma.

अनिवर्ती निवृत्तात्मा संक्षेप्ता क्षेमकृच्छिव: । श्रीवत्सवक्षा: श्रीवास: श्रीपति: श्रीमतां वर: ।। 64 ।।

587. अनिवर्ती (anivartī) = One who never recoils from dharma and dharmic ventures.

588. निवृत्तात्मा (nivṛttātmā) = One given to recede from sensory objects and involvement.

589. संक्षेप्ता (sankṣeptā) = One who compacts the extensive universe into its subtle form at the time of cosmic dissolution.

590. क्षेमकृत्‌: (kṣemakṛt) = One giving protection to whatever His devotees have.

591. शिव: (śivaḥ) = One given to purify those remembering Him.

592. श्रीवत्सवत्साः (śrīvatsavatsāḥ) = One with the mark of Shrivatsa on his chest.

593. श्रीवासः (śrīvāsaḥ) = One with Shridevi dwelling in his heart.

594. श्रीपतिः (śrīpatiḥ) = One who is the consort of Shri, Mahalakshmi.

595. श्रीमतां वरः (śrīmatāṁ varaḥ) = One who is supreme among all deities possessing power and wealth.
