"Thought is the most potent and creative power in the world. It initially takes shape in an individual mind. When shared with others, any benevolent thought starts growing as a vibrant process encompassing more and more people. It is such collective benevolent thoughts that build up great cultural values and treasure in the society."

Term Definition

Sanskrit : मुद्रा ;positions or intertwinings of the fingers commonly practised in religious worship and supposed to possess an occult meaning and magical efficacy.

Sanskrit : मुक्ति; liberation.

sanskrit: मुण्डक, means: a shaven headed (a Sannyaasin); the trunk of a tree with the branches chopped off ; a barber. One interpretation is that this Upanishad is meant for the Sannyaasins or will make one a Sannyaasin. It is associated with the Atharvaveda.

The hairs seen from outside exist on the scalp but they cover up the scalp. Like that, this world variety appears on the "substratum" called Consciousness but covers the Consciousness. Mundakopanishad removes the cover of world variety (ignorance of multiplicity/fragmentation) and exposes the One Consciousness, the Substratum, the Reality.

As such, the word "Upanishad" also means (upa+ni+sad) "the nearness or assimilation of which removes completely the ignorance".

Sanskrit: मुनि; a saint, sage, seer, ascetic, monk, devotee, hermit (esp. one who has taken the vow of silence).

sanskrit : मूर्त ; Personal and Gross.

Sanskrit : नरक; Hell;

Sanskrit : निदिध्यासन ; Profound and repeated meditation.

sanskrit : निर्वाण ; Liberated from Existence.

sanskrit : निषेधः  ; Prohibition.

sanskrit : निष्ठा ; read here about niṣṭhā

sanskrit : नैवेद्य; An offering of eatable articles presented to a deity, which may afterwards be distributed to worshippers.

sanskrit : पञ्च-भूत ; The 5 elements (earth, air, fire, water and sky).

Sanskrit : पाप; Bad , vicious , wicked , evil , wretched , vile , low, boding evil , inauspicious.

sanskrit : परम्पर ; one following the other , proceeding from one to another (as from father to son) , successive.

sanskrit : पारायणं, स्वाध्यायः ; Reading, Perusal.
