Dear and blessed Soul
Anna-Vastra Daana Satram steps into 29th Year
Harih Om Tat Sat. Daana, Yajna and Tapas are the three pillars on which the long-term well-being of the individual and society rests. Of these, Daana is simple to practise, and its reward is great, bringing instant joy to the giver and receiver alike. For the spiritual seeker the value of Daana is too great. Daana instills inner expansion and elevation, to strengthen the cultural heredity of one’s lineage. Even more important is the fact that it purifies one’s wealth, thereby those who inherit it will have a noble mind to employ it judiciously, preventing misuse and resultant adversities.
The annual Anna-Vastra Daana Satram, Narayanashrama Tapovanam & Hind Navotthana Pratishtan conduct in this spirit every year, enters its 29th year. The small beginning in 1986, in Paralikad village, grew steadily with hearty participation of devotees and well-wishers the world over. Last year we reached over 25,500 poor families in Kerala, 2,000 from slums in Delhi and 2,200 tribal families around Hata village off Jamshedpur. This year we hope to reach more than 31,000 families.
This year’s distribution will begin on 28th June from Omkarashram, Deshamangalam. Spreading over 10 weeks, distribution will take place from about 50 centres covering over 250 villages. The event here in the Ashram will be on 18th July and in Vyasa Tapovanam on 30th July.
Sewing machine distribution to deserving indigent women, under self-employment project, is an important part of Anna-Vastra Daana Satram. This year we plan to give 40 machines.
Under monthly Daana Satram scheme, 15 Kgs of rice with some cash are given to more than 300 destitute individuals.
I would like you to inform your friends and relatives about the Satram, so that they may also have an opportunity to participate in the holy endeavour and be blessed. This will also be a means of disseminating the message of Daana.
May the cultural bond grow deeper, making the society stronger and more cohesive, bringing greater blessedness and elevation.
With love and ashirvaad,
