In our Brahmavidya Deeksha, we straightaway enter into the inner consciousness plane. It is primarily an inspiration, a divine inspiration the Guru lets loose in you. He unleashes so to say a divine inspiration. He makes the animating presence in your body bring about some manifestations as a result of which you will become more and more conscious of it.

Harih Om Tat Sat. Harih Om Tat Sat. Jai Guru. Jai Guru.
Today also we had a meditational sitting in our mezzanine floor in the air-conditioned room meant for meditation and deeksha. When the whole of spiritual science is brought to you in a very simple and beautiful formula, asking you to install it in your mind and then pursue it, pursue it, pursue it, pursue it, I wonder why is it that you are not doing it.
Brahmavidya works on the mind, on the inner part of your personality. Our personality, as I have always emphasized is a composite. In that composite personality, we have the gross, physical, pāñchabhautik body. The entire pañcabhūtās are inert and insentient. At the same time, we become living only when we are sentient. The sentience part of our life or personality is not contributed by the pañcabhūtās and hence by the body. Wherefrom then does it come? That is what you have to be sure about. It comes from the presence which animates and activates our body and its limbs. That presence is unmistakably there. That is why we breathe, that is why we sweat, the blood circulates, the body remains hot, the mind thinks, the intelligence understands, the ego asserts, we are wakeful, we go to sleep, we dream, we again wake up. All these cycles are going on not because of the body. Body is a necessary adjunct in this, but all these are done solely and primarily, completely by the consciousness.
This consciousness functions as the mind, as the intelligence, as the ego but the functioning substance is the same. It is like legs walking, running, standing, sitting, lying, folding, jumping; so many acts are done by the body. So in all the acts, you have only the body and bodily legs. Exactly in the same manner, we have only one root substance or presence. That presence functions as the mind. When it does mentation it is called the mind, when it does intellection it is called the intelligence, when it does assertion and coordination it is called the ego. All these are functional names, not substantial or substantive names. That presence is there which animates and activates in body.
Invariably you will have a mental formula, a mental idea which will represent the goal and objective of your life. That idea should be dissolved in the mind. The mind should be dissolved in that idea. Call it the mantra. So the mantra should be actively and vibrantly kept up. I call it ‘Revolve the mantra in your mind’. Keep it in your hands as you will keep a tender baby. Or with a hair you insert it into a glass of honey and you start stirring, stirring, stirring the honey. These are some of the examples that come to my mind.
So what you have to do is in the crucible of your japa, in the crucible of your anusandhāna, the whole inner personality should be melted and all the impurities removed and the personality will come out as a beautiful, shining, glorious presence. My dear seekers, what trouble is there for you to do this? I am not asking you to stand on your head or go to the temple and circumambulate 108 times. I am not asking you to fast. I am only asking you to use whatever I have given in your mind so that the revolution will be worked, the reformation will be worked, the refinement will be gained and the spiritualization and divinization process will be on, on and on.
I want you to burn your inner personality in the crucible of the anusandhāna that you do, the japa that you do. I cannot call it a japa, then it loses its significance. It is an infusion into your personality of a certain idea and truth which represents the goal of your life. If an idea has to take over your mind and intelligence, just imagine how powerful it will be and how wholesome will be the outcome.
If the mind thinks ‘I am a lion’, one will become a lion. If the man thinks ‘I am a woman’ he will become a woman; vice versa. If you think ‘I am a lamb’, ‘I am a bakri’, you will remain ‘ma…, ma…’. If you think ‘I am a lion’ you will start roaring like a lion. Mind holds the key for everything. Refuse to consider that you are poor. Refuse to consider that you are mortal. On the other hand, be infused with the ideas of immortality, beauty, blissfulness. I have given you a very very short formula so that there will be no distraction while practicing it. I think you should be so very grateful and feel happy and fortunate that you have been able to get into this wonderful, simple, comfortable path. It is all done by the mind, mind, mind, mind, mind.
Harih Om Tat Sat. Jai Guru.
