"Let not world-objects be your mind’s master. Let them be, if at all, subservient to the mind. To be spiritual is not to look for one’s delight and fulfillment in the objects of the world. The mind that causes delight through any object can also provide delight without such an object. Delight in reality belongs to the mind alone. It is verily mind’s own gift."

अशोच्यानन्वशोचस्त्वं प्रज्ञावादांश्च भाषसे ।
गतासूनगतासूंश्च नानुशोचन्ति पण्डिताः ।। २-११ ।।

Śri Bhagavān uvāca ।
aśocyān-anvaśocas-tvaṁ prajñā-vādāṁśca bhāṣase ।

Krishna said:
You are grieving over those who should not be
grieved for at all. For, the spiritually wise grieve not
either over the living or the dead.

Note: It is significant that Krishna makes Arjuna’s grief
itself the point of introspection. Whenever you grief, do
not fail to introspect over it. That will surely lead you to
higher wisdom and relief.
